Make Your Guest Room Feel Like Home

You have finally finished decorating your living space the way you want it, and you deserve to show off your hard work! Decorating the guest room is usually at the bottom of the list, but it does provide a comfortable space for friends and family to stay. Here are some simple tips that will make your guest room stand out!

To provide optimal comfort for your guests, guarantee that your guest room has extra pillows and blankets. Your guests will appreciate options depending on the weather or if they are prone to getting cold. If you want to go the extra mile, pop a fan in the closet or install a ceiling fan for those warm summer nights.

If your guest room has any windows, window coverings are necessary. Nothing is worse than getting woken up by the harsh sunlight because the windows don’t have blinds or curtains. Window coverings give your guests the privacy they need to feel safe and comfortable during their stay. Besides, a room without curtains just doesn't feel complete!

Next, you will want to focus on the practicality of the room. Are there tissues, washcloths, and bath towels? Don’t leave your guests hanging on things that are just essential during a stay. Also, be mindful that your guests may not know your house as well as you do. Provide a lamp or night light to prevent any injuries during those middle-of-the-night restroom trips.

A couple of daily luxuries that get looked over often because they are so accessible in our everyday routine are mirrors and hangers. Staying away from home can already be uncomfortable enough. Make sure that your guests have a space where they can ensure that they look presentable and hang their clothes nicely.

Once your guest room looks inviting, don’t forget to personalize it! My favorite way to make my guests feel special is by providing a welcome basket with snacks.
