Rooms can look smaller or bigger than they really are depending on how they are arranged and decorated. Today, I have got a few tips on how to fool the eye into thinking that a room is bigger than it really is.
Tip #1: Cut the Clutter
Have you ever heard the phrase, less is more? Well, this is true especially for smaller spaces. Get rid of unneeded clutter to result in a tidy and organized look. This concept should also be used when decorating. Don’t go overboard on decorations, keep it simple. Nothing feels more crowded than a small space with too much stuff.
Tip #2: Use Mirrors
Have you ever been in a business and one wall is a mirror? This whole time you thought you were in a larger room with a lot of people but it’s really half of the size! This can work for your home too. Try adding a mirror that is angled towards the focal point in your space to create a sense of depth.

Tip #3: Rearrange
Rearranging a room can do wonders when you are trying to get a different setting. If you want a space in your home to look bigger, try putting the larger furniture against the wall. Use your smaller furniture and décor to accessorize the larger pieces. Remember not to block any pathways within the space.
