Gallery walls are becoming a popular way for people to add a personal touch to their homes. There are different ways that gallery walls can be achieved. Adding this feature to a hallway can spruce it up in no time, or it can set the entire mood of a room. Although it seems like an effortless task, it can be tricky to find the right photos and sizes that pair well with each other. Here are some tips to help you design a great gallery wall.
First, you will want to figure out what kind of style you want for your wall. Narrowing your wall down to a designated design doesn’t mean it needs to be simple and match perfectly. You can have a gallery wall that is random, beachy, bohemian or even abstract. Remember to keep in mind the style that's displayed in the room you are working with. For example, if you have bold colors throughout the space, maybe a black and white abstract gallery wall would be fitting.
After you have decided on what you’re going for, it’s time to gather some photos or art. There are plenty of pre-made galleries that can be bought online, or you can make/pair gallery pieces on your own. The most important part is to measure and arrange. It seems like a small step, but this is how to make your gallery wall feel organized and put together.
Gallery walls typically get framed, but there are many other ways to hang your pieces. You can buy canvases for a more simple look, hang them by string for a more bohemian look or frame them for an original gallery wall style. However you choose to hang up your gallery wall, don’t be afraid to get creative with it!
