The holidays can be a stressful time for many people, and feng shui can be a powerful tool to create a calming and harmonious energy. Ease your stress and enjoy the season with these tips.
Holiday Feng Shui Colors
During the colder months, feng shui recommends to bring warmth into your home with the energy and colors of the feng shui fire element: red, orange, purple, pink, and yellow. Red is of course a great choice for the holidays and is linked to joy, excitement, luck, love, and passion. You can bring it in with textiles, ornaments, and other decor pieces.
Fire Element
Fire itself can be a potent way to enhance the energy of the feng shui fire element, and what better time than the holidays? Light a fire in the fireplace or set out some candles. Strands of lights can also express the fire element.
Finding Balance
Don't forget about the main feng shui principal, balance! If the presence of fire becomes too strong or you have an excessive amount of red items, you'll risk creating an energy that promotes restlessness and outbursts. However, too little or lack fire elements can lead to the low energy and lack of enthusiasm people can have after the holidays.
For optimal balance, try adding in other feng shui elements such as water and metal. Water brings a sense of calm, purity, and freshness (associated colors are blue and black). Metal can bring the qualities of precision and efficiency into a space (associated colors are gray and white). The perfect balance will provide the right amount of warmth, joy, and peace this holiday season.
