A child’s physical environment can effect their development into adulthood. So, their playroom is a very important room in your home. It should be a special place where they can create, pretend, and have fun. Get creative and start designing with some of these fun ideas!
Bold Colors & Patterns
First, always consider the size of the room and amount of natural light. Adding bright bursts of color to the floor with a patterned rug or on the wall can help children learn about patterns while bringing harmony and balance to the color scheme.
Physical Play
Children love to climb, jump, and swing. Get them active all year round by designing a physical play space indoors, especially if you live in a colder climate. Try adding a swing or use the walls for climbing!
Organization
Organization should be a top priority in a playroom. If you have an art area, it will often overflow with all the different materials which can be hard to keep up with unless you have efficient storage.
Soft Flooring
Provide a safe landing spot for climbers with soft matts and other soft fitness carpets. Encourage gymnastic and yoga movements to increase flexibility, strength, balance, and coordination.
